About Mrs. Annapoorna…
Mrs. Annapoorna basically from Vizag settled in Bangalore was working as a teacher in a School for Physically and mentally disabled children, had plenty of opportunity to interact with parents and understand their difficulties. She was particularly inspired and always felt the need to help the children of the construction workers who have no access to good education, proper food, and more than all the opportunity to enjoy their childhood.
With her deep concern for the deprived she always had an urge to help the society in her own way and this culminated into forming this “Annapoorna Charitable Trust” and establishing Balya, a “Free Home for Children” in Bangalore along with her colleague in the school and friend Mr. K. S Bhaktavatsala and a few likeminded persons in October 2004.
